Tile & Stone

Tile & Stone

This week on Dear Alice, we talk all about tile and stone. Jess, Suz, and Cori share their opinions, expertise, and advice on how to best use or avoid tile and stone in your home.

First off, to use tile in kitchen flooring. Jess and Suz agree that it depends on the situation and the space. Tile is harder on the body for long-term standing, so if you plan to spend a lot of time in your kitchen, a wood floor might be a better option. Tiles can be tricky to use, make sure to either repeat the pattern or get enough tile to use different pieces to avoid a repeated pattern. One of our favorite tile projects, the Sugar House, showcases a beautiful tile kitchen floor. Its repeating pattern in white and gray is stunning, lending an elegant dimension to the space.
